#6 – How to “Urge Surf” to Escape the Urge to Binge

Hello! My name is Jonathan Sumner, the Binge Dietitian! When you have the urge to binge, what do you do? What can you do? Do you just start bingeing and think to yourself, there’s no way to escape this? Do you already anticipate a binge happening hours before you actually start to binge eat and helplessly prepare for it? I want you to know that it is possible to escape the urges to binge! There is a skill called “Urge Surfing”. Urges often come and go after 30 minutes and the key is the “Surf the urge”. How do you urge surf? Listen to this episode to find out!
You can apply this skill of urge surfing as early as today and see how this skill can help reduce your urges. It is important to note that the skill of urge surfing works best when paired together with preventing and physical and mental restrictions.
